The best way to order Domino's in 2024 — app vs Swiggy vs website
Ordering Domino's seems simple until you start stacking. Same pizza, three different channels — and the cashback math changes every time. We placed test orders and ran the numbers so you don't have to.
App vs Swiggy vs website — the short answer
For a typical ₹500 order:
- Domino's app: 10% cashback on HDFC Millennia (₹50), plus any app-only coupon. Best if you have a card that rewards dining.
- Swiggy: Swiggy Money + card stacking can beat the app if you hit a good platform offer (e.g. 15% off above ₹399). You also earn Swiggy Super points.
- Website: Often the worst of both worlds — fewer coupons than the app, no Swiggy stacking. Use only if you have a bank-specific website offer.
So the "best" channel depends on your cards and that week's offers. Below we break it down with real numbers.
Domino's app — when it wins
The app has exclusive "App Only" coupons that Swiggy and the website don't get. On a ₹500 order, a typical BOGO or 30% off can already save you ₹150+. Stack that with a card that gives 5–10% on dining (HDFC Millennia, SBI SimplyCLICK, or AmEx rewards), and your net outlay drops further.
Example (₹500 order, 30% app coupon + HDFC Millennia 5%):
Bill after coupon: ₹350. Cashback: ₹17.50. Effective spend: ₹332.50 for what would have been ₹500 on the website.
The catch: you must pay via the app (UPI or card). No Swiggy Super, no Swiggy cashback — so if Swiggy is running a steep discount, the app can still lose.
Swiggy — when it wins
Swiggy aggregates Domino's and often runs platform-level discounts (e.g. 20% off above ₹399, or flat ₹100 off). You can then pay with Swiggy Money (UPI) for extra cashback, and use a credit card on top for reward points.
Example (₹500 order, 20% Swiggy discount + 5% card):
Bill after discount: ₹400. Card cashback 5%: ₹20. If Swiggy Money gives ₹15 back: effective ₹365. You also earn Super points for future orders.
Swiggy wins when (1) its discount is better than Domino's app coupons that week, and (2) you care about Super points. Check both the app and Swiggy before you tap order.
Website — rarely the best
The Domino's website has fewer coupon options than the app and no Swiggy stacking. Use it only if your bank has a "Domino's website only" offer (e.g. 15% off with XYZ card). Otherwise, prefer app or Swiggy.
Bottom line
- Have a good dining card and love app-only coupons? Order from the Domino's app.
- Chasing Swiggy Super or a big platform discount? Order via Swiggy and stack UPI + card.
- Stick to the website only when a bank offer explicitly requires it.
We'll update this when Domino's or Swiggy change their terms. Make every rupee count.
