InterMiles is a multi-brand loyalty program: you earn InterMiles on partner airlines, hotels, shopping, and card spend, and redeem for flights, hotel stays, vouchers, and more. Flexibility is the draw; the trick is earning at a good rate and redeeming where value is highest.

Earning InterMiles

  • Partner airlines: Credit eligible flights to InterMiles (check which airlines and fare classes qualify).
  • Hotels: Book through InterMiles or partner channels to earn.
  • Credit cards: Some co-branded and general reward cards let you transfer points to InterMiles or earn InterMiles directly. Transfer ratios vary (e.g. 1 card point = 0.5–1 InterMile); check your card's list.
  • Retail and lifestyle: Partner brands in fashion, electronics, and F&B sometimes offer bonus miles. Stack with a rewards card when the merchant is eligible for both.

Transfer partners and sweet spots

  • Card → InterMiles: If your bank allows transfer, compare the miles you get per bank point with redemption options. InterMiles often runs bonus transfer promotions (e.g. 20% extra miles); time your transfer during these if you're committed to burning InterMiles.
  • Sweet spot redemptions: Flight redemptions can be strong when cash fares are high — e.g. last-minute or peak-period domestic or short-haul international. Hotel redemptions depend on the property and rate; sometimes vouchers (e.g. Amazon, Flipkart) offer fixed value per mile — do the maths vs flights.
  • Vouchers vs travel: Redeeming for vouchers gives predictable value (e.g. 1 InterMile = ₹0.25–0.50 depending on offer). Use that as a floor: if a flight redemption values each mile higher, prefer the flight; if not, vouchers may be safer.

Hidden gems

  • Partner earn from everyday spend: Keep an eye on retail and dining partners that credit InterMiles. Occasionally food delivery or grocery tie-ups appear; stacking with card rewards can double-dip.
  • Promo periods: InterMiles runs bonus miles and discounted redemptions. Align transfers and redemptions with these to improve value.

When it makes sense: Use InterMiles if you earn at a good rate (card transfer or partners) and redeem where the value per mile beats your next-best option. Avoid transferring in without a redemption plan. Make every rupee count.
